What is YUVAM Account?

YUVAM Account is a competitive deposit product that enables you to convert your savings in USD/EUR/GBP/CHF currencies to TRY, over the special conversion rate of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), and receive a return at the interest rate in TRY, and that offers protection of currency differences and an extra income, if the exchange rate increases more than the interest rate.

Features of YUVAM Account

Savings in USD (American Dollar), EUR (Euro), GBP (British Pound) and CHF (Swiss Franc) currencies, of individuals residing abroad and companies at which those individuals are investors, which are established in a foreign country in accordance with the laws of that country and legal addresses of which are located in a foreign country, excluding the financial institutions and banks identified by the Central Bank, to be transferred via foreign banks to Anadolubank are put to use. These savings are converted to Turkish Lira over a Special Conversion Rate established by the CBRT. If the sum of your potential profit likely to result from the exchange difference by the end of the maturity period and the extra income is higher than the interest yield on deposit, the amount of exchange difference and extra income is transferred to your account.

Who will benefit from the YUVAM Account?

Yuvam Account can be opened by individuals residing abroad (Natural persons who are citizens of the Republic of Turkey and who have a residence or work permit or right in a foreign country and, have their foreign address registered at the address registration system as the residence details; persons who are granted Blue Card pursuant to Article 28 of Turkish Citizenship Law No.5901 and dated 29/5/2009; and foreign-national natural and legal persons fulfilling the requirements for opening accounts at banks), as well as companies at which these individuals are investors, which are established in a foreign country in accordance with the laws of that country and legal addresses of which are located in a foreign country, excluding the financial institutions and banks identified by the Central Bank.

YUVAM Account may be opened as an odd-term account, with terms of 3 months, 6 months, 12 months and 24 months.

How much balance must be available at my account to open a YUVAM Account?

There are no lower and upper amount limits for opening the account.

Which currencies are eligible to open a YUVAM Account?

Yuvam Account may be opened for deposits in USD (American Dollar), EUR (Euro), GBP (British Pound) and CHF (Swiss Franc) currencies transferred to our bank via foreign banks.

How much return will be generated on Yuvam Account?

If your potential profit that could generate arising from the exchange difference is higher than the interest yield on deposit, then the exchange difference on Currency-Protected TRY Deposit Account is reflected on your account. If your interest yield on deposit is higher than your profit that could arise from a potential exchange difference, then your interest yield on deposit will be reflected on your Currency-Protected TRY Deposit Account.

When converting foreign currency to TRY, you will benefit from the special conversion rate to be published by the CBRT at 10:00 AM/11:00 AM/12:00 PM/01:00 PM/02:00 PM/03:00 PM. On the maturity date, the exchange rate data published at 11:00 AM by the CBRT are taken into account.

The CBRT will make an extra payment to your YUVAM Account, in addition to the principal and exchange difference, over the interest rates of:

3.00% for 3 month maturity
4.00% for 6 month maturity
5.00% for 12 month maturity
6.00% for 24 month maturity.

What are the Features of YUVAM Account?
  • The Account may be opened as an odd-term account, with terms of 3 months, 6 months, 12 months and 24 months. Conversion transactions are performed over the special conversion rates announced by the CBRT at 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 01:00 PM, 02:00 PM and 03:00 PM (Local Time in Turkey).
  • On the maturity date, the exchange rate published by the CBRT at 11:00 AM (Local Time in Turkey) are taken into account.
  • If the sum of your potential profit likely to result from the exchange difference by the end of the maturity period and the extra income is higher than the interest yield on deposit, the amount of exchange difference and extra income is transferred to your account.
  • If you close your account before the maturity date, the exchange rate on the opening day of the account and the exchange rate announced by the CBRT at 11:00 AM (Local Time in Turkey) on the closing day of the account. If the exchange rate on the opening date is lower than the exchange rate on the closing date of the account, no payment is made for any exchange difference. If the exchange rate on the opening date of the account is higher than the exchange rate on the closing date of the account, the exchange difference is collected from your account. You are not allowed to benefit from the extra income.
  • On the maturity date, the account is automatically closed following the accrual of interest, the balance amount is transferred to the drawing account and the term is not re-extended.
  • The withholding rate to be specifically applied to the product will be zero (0).
  • No cash withdrawal and cash deposit transactions can be performed throughout the maturity period of the account.
  • You may open a YUVAM Account by visiting Anadolubank branches from 10:00 AM to 04:30 PM.
  • If your potential profit likely to result from the potential exchange difference is higher than the interest yield on deposit, the exchange difference and extra income are reflected on your account. If your interest yield on deposit is higher than your profit that could potentially arise from an exchange difference, then your interest yield on deposit and extra income are reflected on your account.
  • If the maturity date corresponds to an official holiday, then the interest will accrue on the first next business day. The interest balance to accrue on the maturity date will be transferred to the drawing account, together with the principal. A currency-protected account in TRY will be re-opened in case you request.
